My prayer for the Nashville Area Saddleback Small Groups Conference, “Community U 2010” was for every attendee to receive encouragement, information and most of all new relationships that God could continue to work through for encouragement and information.  The prayer was answered! Many of the attendees came to the conference struggling with what to do next, where God was leading them and how to better equip those in leadership of the their small groups.

Help for Small Group Leaders came in the form of workshops on Saturday led by successful small group pastors from around the southeast.  Among the choices were Social Media in Small Group Ministry, Mission Small Groups, Handling Difficult People, Creating Real Community, Leading Your Group to Spiritual Maturity.  Saturday proved to be not only informative but inspirational for all leaders about the changes or new ideas they planned to implement upon their return home.

Help for Small Group Point Person was offered via the all-day, simultaneous tracks on Friday and Saturday. Track choices were:  Principles, Planning or High Level Problem Solving. Peers sat and discussed as well as learned from Saddleback staff as well as experienced Small Group Point People.

Help for those considering small groups. Many people who attended had been considering small groups as an option or addition to their ministry. They came with questions and discovered many opportunities for answers and discussion.  Answers came from the highly qualified leadership in the tracks and workshops as well as through time for conversation before and after sessions and during the breaks.

Help for those who are in the middle of starting a small group ministry.  Several attendees carried the baggage of trying to start small group ministry or were in the middle of crisis in their ministry.  The opportunity to sit and listen to seasoned leaders in small group ministry, discuss with others around tables and receive prayer from fellow strugglers was valuable.

Which category do you fall into? Do you wish you had made it to the Nashville Small Groups Conference?  Do you need some help in the journey of small group ministry?  Do you wish you had someone to sit with, talk with, pray with? Did you attend, but wish you had brought your small group leaders with you?
