On a 66 degree February day the Smyrna Bugs took the field.  It was four hours of wonderful, sunny, exciting, sporting, trying, learning, cheering, chatting, laughing and happy day for all the players and parents.

The Bugs rotated almost every player on every position in every inning with many of the guys getting to pitch and catch.  The bats are getting stronger and more intentional about being hitters and not taking pitches.  One example of aggressive hitting was Steven connecting with a fast ball and driving it over the center field fence for his first home run of 2010.

The Coaches were taking notes on our strengths and weaknesses.  The result was two pages of notes.  Many guys were encouraged on their winter workout progress.

Another exciting announcement was that Coach Pete, left for Haiti last week with The Chadasha Foundation. He is working in both a clinic and a hospital alongside an incredible group of physicians and nurses, trying to make a small difference in a country with great need.  Here is Susan’s blog with updates on Coach’s Pete trip: http://www.susancobb.blogspot.com/

Please pray for Coach Pete and the rest of the Haiti Team.

Next Smyrna Bugs game is Sunday, February 28.
