In celebration of the time change, the Smyrna Bugs hit the field for a scrimmage on Sunday.  While you could see signs of the good ole champion Bugs, you could also see the remnants of winter in their bats and gloves. But the boys (and parents) were happy to be outside and eying the oncoming season just 6 days away.

Today, the Bugs will be on the field for their first weekday practice OUTSIDE!  Winter has been wet and many times too cold to get out on the field.  The gyms and batting cages were good to keep us loose, but nothing feels like the real dirt and grass under your feet.

We will kick off the tournament season on Friday, March 14, Lavergne Spring Classic-Veteran’s Memorial Park.  That will begin a twice a month tournament season for the Bugs.  We can’t wait.

Friends and families are invited to be part of the Bugs season on a weekly basis by participating in the Adopt-a-Bug program. This plan will be on the website by the end of the first tournament and will allow you the chance to not only adopt a player, but feel that you are right there on the field with them through weekly updates and emails from players or coaches.  It’s like being there, even when you can’t.
